So far .5u isn't much different than .6, and I'm having trouble judging where to stop on the syringe. We'll give this a good week and then probably increase unless his numbers come down.

Hope everyone's having a good day.

My nephew likes pokemon. I play poke-a-kitty. :)
He doesn't like ear pokes but he LOVES chicken.

But he was coughing again this morning like he does when he wants to throw up and didn't want to eat. Why is it his best numbers happen on days I can't get a mid-cycle test? (or when he acts like he doesn't feel good?)

I am really like his numbers the last few cycles. It is like a chess match and you never know the next move the cat is going to make....but, it looks like you are making progress.

Good Luck!

Good Bye Reds and Blacks!

I sincerely hope that he's in pinks and yellows to stay. I just wish he'd stop doing the coughing thing. The last few times I've heard him do it, he didn't actually throw up. He's always had problems with hairballs (I guess)--but now it scares me because vomiting was one of his DKA symptoms.

Could it be a respiratory thing rather than related to diabetes? Can you borrow a stethascope and see if there's a rattle noise in there somewhere?

Carl: good idea. He hasn't vomited anywhere lately but he's made that pre-vomit coughing sound a lot recently. Could be a respiratory problem; I'm fighting a sinus infection myself. I'll see what I can find. He's eating okay this afternoon.

Do kiities get seasonal alergies like beans do? I know the last couple weeks, I go outside, I start getting stuffed and sneezy. Don't feel sick, just congested. More in the morning than later. Something is dropping pollen I guess.

Dunno. It's possible. I suspect his problem is hairballs & am going to try treating him w/ vaseline (& brushing if I can find his brush). If that doesn't help we'll check other possibilities.
