Cass cat has been up to new tricks. He's been running 18-24 hours on just 0.4u. Part of the odd timing was my crazy schedule last week (helping mom with VBS an hour away) but part was all Cass. I'm continuing to monitor and shoot 0.4u because he's not going too low, just running long. I like this trend but will be out of town in a couple weeks--mom will cat-sit but doesn't like to test. I guess I'll just play it by ear.

SS is up to date through this morning.

Very interesting sheet, learned something new. All the blanks for the shots are you letting him ride until his glucose comes up to your shot point then?

Yes. You can also see where I shoot off cycle. The dose is next to the preshot reading.

Keep in mind we've been doing this for a LONG time (3 years come Aug.) & it took a lot to get to this point. I generally know how Cass will react & am shooting at numbers I wouldn't recommend to someone else.

Thanks Lisa.
I really think Snow is running long. Went from 3U down now to 1-2U in ~12 days. With no credit given to my vet cat(2)_steam
Just FDB.
I'm happy just to keep him on the 12/12 for now.

Some lovely long runs, there.
Are you noticing Cassie's blood glucose dropping in response to food at all?

Eliz

I honestly haven't checked. He's back to 12-hour stretches and isn't dropping very low on 0.4u this week.

Hmmm...
Maybe his pancreas just got tired?
Or was there any change to his food? Or feeding schedule?
With my own cat I find that the hotter the weather the longer the insulin duration. (I'm guessing that's because his appetite is reduced in hot weather.)

But now that Cassie has had long runs it seems very likely you will see them again... (And
it's so nice to see long runs, but that 'glucose chasing' can really challenge your schedule! ;-) )

He's done this before, just never so long or with such low numbers. I'm definitely letting him take the lead. He gave me a 318 last night, but then left me two big piles of vomit and a big pile of poo in the middle of the floor. I guess he was constipated again. The squash has decreased the frequency of this but not eliminated it.

And, of course, I forgot to grab his notebook to update the SS this morning.

SS updated. Fingers crossed. He's doing well on 0.4u; the high the other day was an anomaly due to constipation.
