Got some babyfood squash for constipation; mixed w/ frozen in the feeder. First dose tomorrow +6; we'll see if they'll eat it.

Constipated today, resolved after pmps. Started squash a couple days ago. They're eating it; let's see if it helps.

Hi LIsa. I was reading your post regarding feeding squash for constipation. I have not heard of that. I am kind of dealing with that too, so I will be very interested if you think it will work. Thanks for mentioning it.

It makes sense that squash would work - its a gourd type vine; pumpkin is a gourd type vine and pumpkin is often suggested.

Also, check out the Feline Constipation web site. More than you ever wanted to know about the feline GI tract, what happens when it doesn't and options for intervention.

+12 101 -no way I can shoot that!

RE squash: can't take credit for the idea, did forum search for info on pumpkin and saw some people were using babyfood squash instead. Figured it was smaller, so less waste if they wouldn't eat it. I'm adding about 1/4 tsp to the frozen (+water) I put in the feeder, so they're getting it at +6 twice a day. Can't hurt, might help. Cass's incidence of barfing & pooping everywherr when he's constipated (w/ associated high bs) has increased, so I decided it had to be addressed.
