Carrageenan

Wondering if Carrageenan has contributed to Lila's bowel issues? Lila has been fed Lily's Kitchen for a year now, we know it has a very small amount of Carrageenan, but presumed (maybe wrongly) that as she was well on it there were no problems with her tolerance of Carageenan. Wondering now if she has become sensitive to it. Anyone else had similar issues.? (Loose/pale/bulky stool since end of Aug and weight loss). Symptoms may be easing since reducing Lily's Kitchen.

I've read it can cause inflammation but I don't know if it has been proven. I found a cat food without the carrageenan.

I know nothing about it, but maybe try a food change for a month or so and see how things go? If she has an intolerance/allergy to something the best thing to do it cut it out completely, especially if it's been identified. I've personally been going through the same thing and it's not easy but doable. Weruva pretty in pink or punk and glam = IBD upset. It's all trial and error. Cats can become "sensitive" to proteins that they have been fed for long periods of time. Maybe try a different brand, and maybe duck, venison, really any protein she hasn't eaten.

Single protein duck pate has been really good for my Leo who has IBD. He never gets tired of it like he did other cat food and his bm's have been much better.
