Cardiomyopathy

Hi,
Just reaching out to see if anyone else has a cat with cardiomyopathy? Shadow had his ECHO yesterday and was diagnosed with severe cardiac disease. He actually has restrictive cardiomyopathy and is going into an arrhythmia called atrial fibrilliation. Prognosis is very poor, but we are trying medications. He was started on aspirin, enalapril, and atenolol.

Just looking for any experiences others may have had or any words of advice. I'm so so scared of coming home and finding him dead.

Babu does have HCM it's a different kind of cardiomyopathy but I do get the feeling, and one thing I do know is nobody really knows about the prognosis in all this cases ( Babu was diagnosed almost 5 years ago but his condition has not advanced ) he may continue to live a long normal life or not, just enjoy every minute you have with him

My Frankie was diagnosed with HCM when he was 2 years old. He is now 11. He was put on Atenolol too, but that has just recently stopped as his murmur has gone and all that is left is the thickening of the walls. He is now on no medication and his condition has stayed the same for several years now. Rom has also been diagnosed with HCM last September. He just had a check up and there is no advancement. He is not on medication either, as he doesn't have a murmur. I know nothing about your cat's type of cardiomyopathy, but I was given all the worst case scenarios at diagnosis too. No-one really knows how or when this disease will progress or end.
