HI

Does anyone know the carb content of FF Beef Flavour Feast Pate??? It's not on Dr. Lisa's list and wondering if someone has another means to find out as I bought some assuming it would be okay as the other flavours I have bought are on the list and thought this wouldn't be a problem...........I can return the cases I bought so not worrying about it too much other then knowing it is good to give our DX cats.

Thanks

Shawna

My cheat sheet lists it at 5%. I thought I found that on our food chart here. I'll have to go back and check......

EDIT: Found it - it's on page 6 of the food chart under "Tender." I hope that's the right one you were looking for!

i gave the beef, the chicken feast and the turkey and giblets interchangeably to punkin. they are all 4-5% and seemed to not change his BGs significantly between them.

Just wanted to add a quick tidbit of info to this...even tho' FFeast Beef pate says it's LC, it spikes KT terribly every time I feed it. There's another cat on here that spikes when fed beef too but can't remember who... I keep beef pate as MC/HC for KT. Dakota doesn't like it so I have no idea how HE reacts to it.

HUGS!!!

Hi Lyresa,

You mentioned that the beef spikes KT's bg. How much of a change do you notice? I'm just wondering what a food spike might look like. I've seen a few differences between various foods with Jersey, but I'm curious about others' experiences!

Sorry to hijack the thread, Shawna!

The beef pate is new in Canada. its not a tender one so it might not be that low. Gecko - I wouldn't chance it quite yet. Maybe if/when Davidson is OTJ you can give it a go.

hm, i'm wondering if you're talking about a different one than i was thinking of. we fed them only the classic pate ones - perhaps the tender is something else.

there are only 30 different varieties of every flavor now! ohmygod_smile

I looked at the cans I have in the cabinet. They have the brown label and state,

Fancy Feast
Tender Beef Feast
Classic

I don't know if that helps anyone but wanted to throw the info out there just in case! :-D

I have been feeding both Harley & Davidson the same food since the DX of Davidson, since they change food bowls daily thinking one is getting something better then the other. Since going on wet food only in Jan. I have been feeding Friskies wet with carbs between 7-8% and the FF with carbs between 3-6% and my records are still very consistent. I have no idea which food has been given on a particular day yet I see Davidson's BG tests are always consistent and he keeps dropping his dose.

I bought the Friskies based on Dr. Lisa's chart and it seems to work very well and now just using up the last of it, although I probably have about 3 weeks supply left (I buy in bulk) and with switching it and rotating with the FF it will last a while. I know I've been feeding the Friskies about twice a week and with Davidson's numbers the way they are I am not concerned that his numbers will jump up once OTJ down the road...........

Over the past couple of weeks I have been feeding both Mfg types of food during the day mixing it up mornings, afternoons and evenings........so they get a variety each day and average about 5% carbs at each meal

I think I am safe to continue to use the Friskies even if it's a higher carb then the FF and if the FF Beef Pate is even a 7/8 % carb then it will still be equal to the Friskies..............maybe I will take some back since I bought a few cases as there is a good sale on now and stocked up for about 3 months..........

Thanks

Shawna
