Hi Everyone,
I am CONSTANTLY thinking about animal food around here and now that Basil is OTJ for a few weeks, I feel as if maybe I can begin to plan some food changes.
Right now, he eats FF and Merrick, 6% carbs or below and generally 4% and below.
My questions:
1) Is it really okay to feed 10% carbs? That opens up a lot of other flavors.
2) Is anyone familiar with Prowl from Honest Kitchen? It is a dehydrated raw. I feed my dog two of their products--Force and Thrive. He LOVES LOVES it. Stands there and licks that dish like you wold not believe. Here is the link to the nutritional profile for Prowl, the cat formula. (Carbs are on second page.) Is 9.5% carbs on an "as fed" basis a good number? They also give the "dry matter basis." All thoughts appreciated, particularly the Food Queen, Janet, if she is around.
Thanks!
ETA: If he keeps being so fussy (like turning his nose up at Cowboy Cookout and FF Turkey and Giblets) I might try mixing those with a higher carb food to get a decent average. Like if he ate a serving of half 5% and half 9% he'd be at 7%.
