Car travel & benadryl?

We're going on a ~5 hour drive tonight with Luna to go camping and am wondering if I can give her benadryl for the trip to keep her calm - or if I should even bother. This site says it should be fine. She doesn't freak out in cars but she doesn't really like it either.

I give my girl the pet version of Bach's Rescue Remedy. She does beautifully with it. She survived a 6 hour car ride (with a few stops to let her out of the truck and walk).

Bonnie always foams at the mouth with Benadryl and sedates her too much but ECID, I'd suggest what Suzi_S recommends or calming gel. You can get calming gel or chews at Petco or Petsmart. It knocks my cats out well without adverse side effects.

lol I will thanks! kind of mad her harness was supposed to get here yesterday (neon pink) but never showed up. guess we have to resort to the old reliable pumpkin one.
