did beeber's check at 2:30 (+4 from shot time of 10:30). the 10:30 reading was 465, the 12:30 reading 262, and this time is read 70. i freaked out because i never saw such a low # with her. i immediately did a test check and then redid her. within a matter of minutes it was 194.

am i crazy that the # could have changed so quickly? i know both #'s are ok but i can't imagine the #'s changed so fast.

You were right to do a recheck. Based on your previous numbers, my guess is the 194 was the more accurate number (I usually recheck twice if I get a funky number, and then go with whatever is closer to two out of three). Sometimes you just get one-the strip could have gone bad, had too much blood, not enough blood, etc. etc. It happens, and all you can do if you suspect a number is not right is just retest a time or two and then go with the number you feel is more likely to be correct. That's why I like to do 3 tests...if I got a 70, a 194 and say, a 168, I'd guess that the higher readings are the correct ones. But funny readings happen, and you handled it exactly right!
