Can zobaline cause loose stools/diarrhea?

mr b has been pooping more, and its been softer, just these past few days, suddenly. Tonight's was the worst.

I keep a daily journal on him. In trying to figure out the cause, i took a look and noticed this started up right after we started zobaline.

I got out the bottle to take a closer looks. I am suspicious about the cellulose and the magnesium stearate. Its got folic acid too but i dont know if that may have laxative effects.

Anyone here have this problem? Any thoughts on those ingredients?

A "bump" is just bumping the thread up so it doesn't get lost or skipped over between the other threads, especially if that original posters' question has yet to be answered. :)

ANY comment will bring the thread back to the top of the wall......we just use the word "bump" because it's a common term used on forums to "bump" a thread back to the top of the page.

I could just type "X" and it would bring this thread back to the top of the page

On the looser stools, have you changed anything in his diet this week? A different brand or even a different flavor? I've never heard anyone say that adding Zobaline caused loose stools (of course anything is possible I suppose)

Can you start getting at least a "before bed" test in on the PM cycle? Without getting at least one test in on the PM cycle you're really missing half the data on what might be going on with Mister Biddles. Most cats go lower at night, so it's really important to know what's going on during those hours.

as far as the loose stools diarrhea, I have no idea whats the cause. we've been on the same food for a while. the only difference was zobaline and renew life probiotics. I actually stopped the probiotics at the first loose stool, figuring maybe it was a little too much too soon, but its been a few days now so that's probably not it. I stopped the zobaline today just to see what happens. everything else is the same. so confused.

My civvie got really bad diarrhoea after receiving a course of antibiotics. I treated her for a while with probiotics (per vet recommendation) but the diarrhoea just persisted. In desperation I stopped the probiotic; the diarrhoea cleared up within a couple of days after that.

well I cant find anything linking the two anywhere. I inquired the folks at lifelink who sell the zobaline and they never heard of that as a side effect, so just for the record it looks like its not the zobaline. that being said, I've discontinued it for the time being. the timing of the loose stools was so coincidental, and I cant believe that the probiotics would've affected him so strongly for days after I stopped them.

I really hope this isn't a new symptom of his diabetes. I worry about his liver inflammation. we've been months with the diabetes dx with no vomiting or diarrhea, so fingers crossed this isn't a sign of something worsening. :(
 
flora stor works very well for diarrhea... and it works pretty fast.
Rico has had stool issues most of his life and florastor often helps the same day-I put them in size 5 capsules and give 1-2 as maintenance now.
It is not a pro biotic--it is good yeast.
OTC walgreens etc...
