I think since we had the fructosamine done his numbers are not as good, we went last week and still his bg are up, thinking it may be time to up his dose by .25 and test away. Just not very confident about doing it, scared really to be honest.

1.I'm really uncomfortable making any dose suggestions without recent PM tests. Sorry.

You've been great about getting a PMPS test. Can you get a before bed test on a regular basis?

I wouldn't increase based on recent numbers. I think the higher numbers have more to do with skipping yesterday?

ETA - also looks like a bounce from the low blues yesterday, and possibly another low overnight last night.

I think Sienne is referring to the PM +2 or +3 tests. Would you be able to get those every night? Dosing is based on the nadir (the lowest value in a cycle) and the experienced members need that data to give you advice.

One kitty recently was over 400 at PS and dropped to 36 during the cycle. Fortunately, the bean was testing and was able to bring the kitty back up to safe numbers. Without the midcycle test, we would never know that the kitty was in dangerous numbers. It's terrifying to think of giving more insulin to a kitty that is dropping during the cycle and we don't know it.

my two cents... if you had been able to shoot yesterday morning, he might not be as high today. He might have flattened out lower. I would wait a little bit until the depot refills, and see if he comes back down to similar numbers again, hopefully at a time when you will be able to shoot and monitor. A couple more days on this dose should answer your question about whether he needs an increase or not.
