Can switching from one low carb food to another affect glucose readings after only one day?

I am doing Mugzee's curve today and we normally feed him Weruva Paw lickin chicken. We ran out so we switched to the prescription DM that we had on hand and his glucose readings are much lower today. Can the switch in food change things that quickly? Now I am wondering if I need to find another food because maybe the Weruva is causing him to stay high. We are trying to stay with one food that works for both of our cats- one diabetic and one with ckd. The other thing I am wondering is if the pate vs. the shredded chicken is changing things up as well.

I don't think the food is the problem. A couple percent difference in carbs (if that) is not an explanation for the numbers you are seeing. What you are more likely seeing is the difference between cycles where's he's bouncing, and when he's not. On July 4th he had a lovely blue day, and that was with the Weruva wasn't it?

So, would you expect him to be higher tomorrow or maybe start heading lower now?
Depends whether he bounces from the yellows. And what he does tonight. Any chance of getting a before bed test? Many cats go lower at night, so it's a good idea to get a night time test if you can. We determine how to change the dose based on those lows.
