Kenzo has been in remission since 2016 so I am basically starting over with this forum. I am going to the vet today to get Lantus. Last time I had a vial which is very expensive. Can I use a pen.

Don't get the pen needles. You use a syringe to withdraw the insulin. There are pictures in the Sticky Note on Insulin Care and Syringe Info on how to do it. Many US members get their insulin from Marks Marine pharmacy in Canada.

Okay, I have some of the fine syringes from 2016 are they still good or do I need to buy new ones. They are in very small increments of like .25 I believe (I'll have to look I can't remember exactly). Would those be okay? They are 3/10ml cc 30gauge 5/16 (8mm).

They most likely have 0.5 unit markings, which is what we suggest getting. They sound like the right size.

Yep use those old syringes - the only thing I've discovered when I've used older syringes is the barrel lubrication dries out and sticks. Running plunger up and down a few times helps. The same rubber seal is right there under the cap of the pen.
