I'm new to this forum and being a diabetic cat owner. I'm looking for some can food choices. Felicity has dry in the morning and can at night so it shouldn't be too hard to switch her to all can. After reading Dr Pierson's articles on catinfo.org I would like to switch her to all can food but don't want to go through my vet each time. I down loaded the chart on can food but it seems really confusing to try to figure out which one would be best.
I will be purchasing a blood glucose monitor tomorrow especially since I purchased dry diabetic food from the vet and they didn't say anything about testing her blood or adjusting her insulin. I don't want to be giving her too much insulin.
Another question on the can food. How much should she be given for each meal? For our dogs we give one 2 cups in the morning and the other only 1 1/2 cups. At night they get 1 cup each with a half can of dry. Should the cat get a full 3 oz can in the morning and night or just half and half?
Thank you
