My civvie, Willow, is currently on Clavamox pills. We have been using a pill shooter to give it to her, but she has been through a lot this week, and I want to reduce the stress that is being caused by having to 'capture' her to give the pill. Does anyone know if it is okay to crush it and add it to food? I have been looking online and have not found an answer (which is odd). I emailed the vet but am not sure how quickly I will get a response.

Thank you.

I wouldn't try it....cats are very picky about their food and she probably won't eat the food with the medication mixed into it and then you have no idea how much she might actually take

I read that clavamox does not have much taste.
Hi. The vet said that if you crush it, it is quite bitter. Not sure how accurate that is since I do not plan to taste it, but that is what she said. Willow has a super power where she can detect if you have even thought about putting anything in her food, so it is probably best that I not even try. There is a supplement (that supposedly tastes good) that I am supposed to be giving her in her food, and even that is proving to be a challenge.
