Can anyone use this?

I don't know if anyone here has tried to use that coupon for a cat's insulin, but I am betting that Novo Nordisk would refuse to honor it for an animal. They say "eligible patients only".

I would be interested in hearing if anyone tried it and what the outcome was.

Hi Cindy,
Though the coupon may be worth trying for, the "get up to $125 off" your first 4 sets is their Cornerstone for Care program. I signed up for that and got a card in the mail, then I had to lie on the phone that it was for me. I tried to use it on Gandalf's last pack of pens, but the pharmacy refused to honor it because of course the prescription was for a feline. They claimed they called Novo Nordisk or maybe the number on the card, not sure, and said it was only for humans using Levemir. I was so angry because a "human" is paying for it!

I never called Novo Nordisk myself to complain. Companies are so scared someone is going to sue them, so I'm sure they will never publicly acknowledge their insulin is used on cats. Lantus' parent company may be much better in this regard, 'cause I know members here have successfully used coupons and programs to get it cheaper.

I was pretty much humiliated by that whole experience and I won't go back to that pharmacy again. I just did not understand why they wouldn't honor an advertised program that had no disclaimer about who used the product. A human is going to be administering it regardless. Maybe other pharmacies would be accommodating, so I guess it's worth a try.
