<waves> I'm here just betting down the hatches before Draco hits us tomorrow.

Way to go Cami...God she is so pretty and reminds me so much of Onyx except his eyes were celery green, love those deep amber eyes she has in fact I'm trying to figure out hwo to sweet-talk DH into a little long haired black guy I found at the local shelter that has those same almost orange-amber eyes.

She keeps this up ad Santa Claws will be bringing her an OTJ party for Purrmas. dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

Laura's here, doing the usual drive by post... bcatrun_gif I read every day but can't post most of the time because Molly has appropriated my laptop and now my keyboard is either locked or broken. I read from my phone but posting is a real pain.

Way to go Cami! She is so beautiful She has Bagheera's (and Onyx's) amber eyes. <sigh> Ai me.

1 week down, 1 predict she's going all the way...

Yay! I'm not alone....

Cami's eye's are unusual (I thought). I had two black cats years ago, both with pale green/gold eyes. We had another black cat, who Cami looks a little like, when I was a kid and I think her eyes were also green or yellow. When I was in high school I found a stray black cat with really orange eyes - she was a beauty - and I wanted to keep her, but my parents made me put an ad in the paper about a found kitty and her family claimed her. Of course that was best for everyone, I'm sure.

I'm still trying to figure out what her genetics are. Mel you said she looked like she has Persian in her didn't you? Maybe the old style Persian, when they were cute. I really don't like the snub nose, pushed in face they have now. Poor things probably can't breath very well either. Why are breeders, and customers, so stupid? Anyway.... she also looks a little like British Long-haired. They have a shorter nose. Cami seems to have a prominent chin, which actually has a bit of a beard on it making it look even longer than it is - and catches water every time she drinks.

Mel, I thought Jon wanted a long-haired black boy cat? Wouldn't it be an easy sell?

Laura, you know you can move Molly off the laptop, right? Can you get her another hard, flat, box to sleep on? I could give you my broken laptop.... And keyboards are cheap. You may just need to pry off the keys and give it a good vacuuming - just remember where the keys go (take a photo or something).

It isn't so much talking Jon into this boy...its talking him into paying the vet bill on the little guy so we could bring him home...lol.

When I was in picking up Onyx's remains a lady had just brought the little fellow to be PTS but my vet wouldn't do it since he was brought in as a stray, had a collar on so she is treating him and looking for his family first. If no one claims him I have dibs on him and she will call me first. Just have to pay his bill and he is mine. :-D Poor little mite isn't even 12 weeks old we don't think and was left out or got out in some bitter cold weather and his paw pads and ears are frost-bitten. Dr. Tami thinks his pads will heal okay they weren't as bad as his ears but his ears are probably never going to grow past where they are right now so he will always have kitten sized ears.

The best part if no one claims him is all she would charge me to claim him is just his meds which she said would run about $30 and she was willing to neuter him for free. If he isn't already and I kind of doubt he is since he is so little. But by law they have to hold him 2 weeks to try to locate his family.

Tell Jon all you want for Christmas is the longhaired black kitty with a big red bow. ;-)

ETA: Ooops, just saw the rest of your post and it's a little more involved than that but hey, he gets the picture.

What? Move Molly off her favorite heating/overheating pad? lol Actually I got myself a new, el cheapo, budget laptop as an early Christmas present. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet - need to do that...

Saw the first ever little glimmer of playing today. She walked into the LR, probably looking for food in the dish I had to put out there for Beau when she was going all wolverine on us. Anyway, when I was emptying out the window boxes and other balcony plants, I tore off the little baby cat nip leaves that were growing (it was near 70 that day) and tossed them on the LR rug. Now they are all dried up and crumbly and she could smell them and looked interested. I crumbled them up to release the smell and sprinkled them on the rug. She lay down on top of them with her paws spread out (like a goal post) and rubbed her face in them. She didn't even react when Beau came over and tried to hone in on them about 6" from her face.

Mel, I didn't know you were talking about a kitten. He is younger than my two girls were when I got them (at about 14 weeks) from my vet. She covered all their first shots, worming, and their spays. I just had to pay for the second round of shots. I can't believe that other woman brought him in to be PTS when he was just a baby. Even if he didn't have a collar on, he would deserve a chance to be adopted.

sounds like it is looking good for Cami this Christmas!

I hope she goes all the way!

And she's learning play is fun :-D
