Came back from vacation! Higher BG, but doing well

We came back from our 6 day vacation! I'm so relieved that Mr. Qoo survived this period!
Thank you very much Elise @tiffmaxee and @Bron and Sheba (GA) for replying to my previous post. I'm sorry not to respond until now. I was really struggling to decide the vacation dose until the last minute and ended up asking the sitter to give him 2.75u. I made a sample syringe filled with 2.75u of colored water so she can compare.

He had low appetite twice in the mornings which was unusual. She attempted to test his BG several times, but couldn't make it, so I asked her to inject 2.5u for the last 2 days just to avoid BG drops too low.
When We got to home, his BG was 199@+6. I think it's a perfect safe number for vacation.

Now he's mostly in the 300s. I have no idea what range he was in during the time. I'm guessing it'll take some time to regulate it again He is eating, drinking, peeing, and acting normal! Looks so happy to be with his favorite human(my husband)!

I hope you had a good time away on vacation. When we come back from a vacation, we can go back to the last good dose, instead of increasing from the vacation dose. So you could go back to 3.0 units, which would have been his dose after earning the reduction from 3.25 units.

Maybe I should make another post, but please let me ask a quick question if you know this.
Is it normal that syringes contains a little bit water(liquid) in the needles? I use Relion syringes from Walmart. I usually draw the same amount of units of air and push it into the vial first. This morning, I pushed the air before poking the vial and saw some drops of liquid came out from the needle. It didn't have any smell, so it's not insulin and it was a new syringe. I tried another new syringe and the same thing happened. If it's not normal, I'll call the manufacture.

What you are seeing is not water but lubricant that they put in the syringe so that the barrel can slide up and down easily. It's not something to worry about.

Here’s info on drawing up the insulin. You don’t want to inject air into the vial as you might contaminate it with the lubricant.
