Couldn't post all day.
Would have like to have been able to get some feedback.
Seen the messages on yesterdays thread in reference to the .4 but I didn't see them until late this afternoon.
I didn't give her any insulin today.
I would like to give her a push to the greens, but I don't know exactly how to go about it.
After reading about the .4, perhaps I should have gone .2 today.
Here amps was 147, +6 130 and pmps was 136.
Any recommendations for tomorrow if her numbers stay in this range?
.2 or maybe even try another fat 0?
Thanks guys!

i would say .2
with the caveat that you don't test shoot feed like we normally do.
test...feed...wait an hour ....test again and then...and only then can you shoot.
the food drop may be more than you expected.
don't want to find that out once the insulin is in her.
altho...personally, even if she dropped to 130 i think she could handle the .2
i am not sure if it is necessary
or that it will work for getting her into remission
but worth a try.
a number over 140 after her meal is really shootable----for YOU.

Can't believe I forget to mention the most important thing.
I noticed this morning a **tiny** trace of blood in her urine.
I tried to do some reading on it, found some pages here from Dr. Lisa.
Kept checking her urine as much as possible today and didn't notice anything again until tonight.
Any ideas? If a UTI, that something that will clear up on her own, or so I just plan on scheduling a vet visit?

Vet visit! Infections can increase bg.-- if you suspect a UTI, don't take it lightly.

Hi Angela -- Congrats to you and Callie Mae for coming so far, so fast!

Two months ago I was in your shoes shooting 0.1, 0.2 and 0.25 on PZI for my boy Harley. We've since switched to Levemir (a long sad story) but I have high hopes that you and Callie Mae will be going OTJ soon.

I concur with Lori - you might want to try the 0.20u if she's shootable after first testing, feeding and re-testing to see how much the food brings her down.

Shooting the low numbers might be scary at first (if you are a nervous Nellie like me) but does get easier with practice. You're doing a great job of gathering the data so you'll know how well the dose works if you choose to give it a try.

UPDATE: Definitely get the urine checked out. If it's a UTI she may need an antibiotic.
