Callie 11/17 AMPS 275; PMPS 134, +1.5 66, +5 83

Oh what a beautiful cycle today! The bump from the HC at +8 didn't last long!
And no food bump at PMPS +1! Wonder what she has in store for you tonight!
@Bandit's Mom Yes...We've been having some really nice and exciting :nailbiting: cycles :D:D:D (Callie's poor ears!)

Another one today. She cleared the short bounce fast and furiously and nadired after PMPS.

I got a little scared at +1.5 -- not only didn't she get any food bump (she tends not to get much of one from her LC), she dropped a bunch and was down from 134 to 66 on our reg monitor and 68 on the Alphatrak (we get Alphatrak readings at lower numbers as requested by our vet.) I gave Callie 1.5 tspn of HC (35%) and a tiny drop of honey with her LC snack and she went up to 78.

She was just acting a little wild again so I gave her another 1/2 tspn HC at +2.25. +2.5 BG is 72. Should I give her a little more HC or wait and see where we are at +3? (Haven't fed anything since.)

I'm running on empty tonight and am not really sure what I'm doing so I would really appreciate your help with feeding amounts/testing times if you are around. Thanks!

Just to confirm
+1.5 = 68 (HC + honey)
+2 = 78
+2.25 - HC
+2.5 = 72

Yes but to clarify a couple of things:

+1.5 was 66 on our reg meter and 68 on AT.

Re: honey - I thought we were still ok and HC would prob do the trick so really only did a drop of honey on my finger for her to lick (she didn't like it and so didn't get much) I didn't put it in the food or on her gums.

+4 81 just fed her a little LC (she's been starving all night) and will test again at +5 to make sure she is still staying up two hours after the last tspn of HC.

Do you think that this is a good dose for Callie and that I should continue to prop her up w HC as necessary to keep her on it for as long as poss? I ask because I think she prob would have dropped below 50/(68 on AT) at least once over the last few days if I wasn't doing that and I am not sure what determines when we prop up w food and when we should let them get a reduction. I figured that since this is the first time that she has had consistently good numbers (ANTI JINX!!!!!), I should try to keep her here for some time but how much propping up is too much?

Yes, it is a good dose and if it means you have to use the occasional higher carbs to keep her at it, its fine. You are propping up too much when it is say most of a cycle.
You will know when you are propping her too much. :-) When they are ready for a reduction - they will let you know in the most uncertain way!

5U with some propping up it is then :) As much as I look forward to future reductions, I am also terrified of what that kind of cycle looks like!

I'll post +5 when I get it in about 15 mins. Thank you for your guidance & support, as always!!

+5 flat at 83 So here's where I think it is prob ok to leave food out and go to bed ... but honestly I'm still too nervous to really sleep until I see her numbers actually rising so I am not feeding now and will get a +6/6.5.
