Calley's number low each morning

My pet sitter is finding that Calley's amBG is in the 70-100 range before food. That is 12 hours past any insulin and sometimes 24 hours past insulin. Last night her number was 320 so she got .5 insulin.

What does it mean if the cat's BG is higher in the evening(but not real high)....but is always low in the mornings(when there has been no food since 10pm the night before?

The pet sitter had trouble getting the meter to read/work Tuesday morning so we don't have a number and she did not give insulin. But she is doing a great job.

Maybe try estimating a dose of 0.25 units rather than 0.5 units. Many cats go lower at night and either take lees insulin, or use a slightly higher carb food to keep it steady and safe.

I can't feed Calley over night. I go to bed by 10pm most nights. I can't leave food out as the second cat or the dogs will eat it. So Calley has to go overnight with no food.

Its the evening number that is always higher. Calley is getting three meals during the day before her evening test around 7pm. Then she gets fed and then the pet sitter gives her a last spoon of food at 10:30pm ish....and insulin if the number is over 200.

Yes I guess when I get home, I will experiment with giving Calley an eyeball .25 dose as needed. She is doing well now on one dose a day, in the evenings.

Get a large dog crate or kennel for Calley to be in overnight. Then you can leave some food in there for her overnight.

Craigslist is a good place to check for used ones.
