Ok. I think I have figured out that I am now giving too much insulin. Since I have been rolling the bottle and she is actually getting well mixed insulin, I don't think she needs 8 units. She has been projectile vomiting around four hours after each injection. I do not know her BG levels as I do not have supplies to test at home. I will be going to Walmart today to see if I can afford to buy home supplies.
I will call the vet tomorrow to see what to do. Should I be starting over a one unit/2x daily to see what level keeps her regulated or should I just gradually reduce the amount I am giving her? I gave her 5 units this morning and she still vomited.
I know this is just a guessing game without testing her....but I'm hoping for any sort of information will help me to know how much to give Calley until I talk to the Vet tomorrow.
Besides the vomiting....she seems fine. Still eating, still drinking, still more alert, still using the box.
I see the light at the end of the tunnel....as long as we get the insulin numbers solved.
