Okay.....get your pictures in! We need some PZI kitties in the calendar! I was hoping we were going to get to vote for the picutures!!!! :lol:

I had read that thread, but I only have "cell phone" pictures, nothing hi res or large.
Kim, someone must be voting..... why shouldn't it be us? :lol:

All your kitty pics are tremendous. Are they fascinated by the camera or by something you are doing behind the camera? They look like they are posing.... how do you make them not look "candid"? How many shots does it take to get the one "keeper"?

That's why I asked the questions, I want to understand how she does it when she takes photos like that.
If someone asked me "how did you get that pic?", my response would be "UH, I dunno, I just point and click!"

I'm thinking Donna probably doesn't use the same strategy I do :lol:

I just point & shoot & still get bad ones. I hate the camera & it hates me!

I dunno if we have secrets really. Since it’s our business we always have cams around and the cats are used to flashes and strobes going off since they were a few weeks old. Sometimes it’s hard to get them to look at the camera since they are kind of sick of us doing this ;)

We are crazy cat people and love all the neato cat stuff they do, so when we see it, we shoot it, even if all we have is an iPhone. My partner Tom is an expert in Photoshop, so we shoot RAW files if we are using a real camera and most times he tweaks the lighting or color.

It’s somewhat of a disease, always looking for shots, framing things and such. It’s why when we (used to) go on vacation, I don’t take a camera. You just need to rest your eye sometimes. But taking pics of our boys isn’t work, we love them so much and never tire of their silly poses and sweet faces.

I wish you all lived close and we could have a kitty photo shoot :)
 
The avatar is a prime example of how our cat photos happen. We were shooting for a glass blower that day and had that 4x8 sheet of black plexiglas set up in the studio. When he left, before we struck the set we sat the cats on it and took some shots :-D

OK then, it's unanimous. The convention will be at Kim's Beach House (she's in Alaska, she won't mind), and Donna will bring the cameras!
