I'm on the Marks Marine Pharmacy and there so many options. I also cannot tell which ones are the Pens. I see a couple choices say Vial and some say cartridge's but I'm unsure about the others.. when I click on them, no picture.

OK... UPDATE.. This says 5 pens of Basaglar Kwikpen.. Is that Lantus??

Basaglar and Lantus are two different brands. Like Nike and Reebok

both make insulin glargine. I started my cat on Lantus then switched to Basaglar and it made no difference. They seem to be pretty much identical. And yes what I bought from Mark's was the "Basaglar Kwikpen for Pets" 15ml pack, which is actually 5 pens, best price around.

Basaglar is biosimilar to Lantus, theoretically it should work the same as Lantus and seems to for most cats. It is not exactly the same product however.

You may want to check prices for Lantus generics near you - semglee and "insulin glargine" are the two in the US. Some people have had luck at Costco, rite aid, etc. for a price comparable to Mark's.

Marks is having a heck of a time with delays and customs, so especially if you are in a warmer part of the US I'd be concerned about temps during transit.

Marks is having supply chain issues with getting Lantus but since Basaglar is also Insulin Glargine, it acts the same way. (I actually did the testing on Basaglar when it first started showing up so we'd know how it worked compared to Lantus) While they are warning people that shipping may be delayed more than usual due to going through LA customs instead of San Francisco customs, I've seen several people post in the Feline Diabetes group on Facebook that their orders got to them within 7 days of ordering. Marks also puts a temperature gauge in so IF the insulin were to go over 80 degree's, you'd know from the gauge but by buying the extra ice and cooler, that's not something you should worry about. They do a great job!

Be aware that some websites may use Canada Post as their default method of shipping whether or not they know it's insulin.
It's the definition of excruciatingly and painfully slow, like watching paint dry.

I recently got a shipment of Lantus from Mark's it took a little longer than usual. They always call you if you send an email they told me they were good with Lantus now since the problems they had earlier during the pandemic. all that being said, my Rocky is not doing well and I'm not sure he will make it much longer he sees the vet again tomorrow morning. If this doesn't go well I have 4 pens I could ship you some. I want to help someone in need if he doesn't make it through this.

You are so sweet. How is Rocky??

Thank you so much. I'll send you a message tomorrow when I'm feeling a little better to see if you are interested in some Lantus.
