Dearest Mary-Anne,
I am so truly sorry.
The greatest gift of love we can give our precious furries is the gift that takes the greatest toll on our hearts... It's the gift of freedom.
You will always be Buttons' champion. And, he will always know that. Love endures.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies. And, please be gentle with your heart, dearest Mary-Anne. A grieving heart takes time to mend... So, please give yours time. There will come a day when you find yourself smiling because your heart will suddenly be flooded with wonderful memories of Buttons...
Fly free, precious Buttons! Soar high on your handsome new wings! Visit your mommy's dreams often to let her know how much you love her and that you're okay now. Tell her how you're chasing butterflies and eating whatever you want. Tell her about all your new friends who are showing you the best sun spots. Tell her how special it is sitting in God's lap... Send us all a rainbow...
Much love and countless gentle hugs for you and your family, dearest Mary-Anne,
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, forever whispering in my heart...
Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is... forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am... forever and ever and ever.
