Sorry have not been posting lately. A family issue came up and we are remodeling the master bath. So much going on and had been working almost 35 hours a week. She is doing great. Will work on the spreadsheet so all can see.

Am not understanding why she will have so many good "blues" then jumps. Any suggestions? Or is this how it works, only give insulin when needed and at the smallest amount needed.

I see in her spread sheet you got a new kitten. Stress raises bg, so that might be part of the reason. Your doing everything right, just keep an eye on her numbers and dose when needed. Hopefully it will all level out soon.

Also, what is the kitten eating, and if it's something different could Buttons be getting into it?

She is probably bouncing a little from a green. If you can get a midcycle number every so often, that picture would probably be clearer. I would guess, at times, the .5 sends her low and she bounces up to a yellow the next preshot.

You really have 2 choices moving to remission. You can keep doing what you are doing, which is fine. She should eventually drop lower and lower. Or you can get some U100 needles, use the conversion chart and give smaller doses. So, on those 160 preshots, you could try a .2 and see if she drops but not low enough for a bounce. If you decide to do that, you want the U100s with the 1/2 unit measurements. And you have to use the conversion chart, as you'd be using a U40 insulin with U100 needles.

Thank you for the recommendations. The new kitten is getting what everyone else gets. Think I will see about the U100 needles for better dose control.

Will try to get spreadsheet updated, she has had numbers below 200 for the past few days so we are not giving any insulin. Can you give me an idea of what numbers are best to see on a regular basis she has been in the 170 range for the past few days even was 121 yesterday AM. But she has diarrhea. Any suggestions to help that issue? Her little butt is sore, its worse when they have no tail

U-100 = 100 units per mL
U-40 = 40 units per mL, or 40% of the concentration
So, 0.4 * tick mark = U-40 dose.

Short version of conversion:
Every half unit tick mark on a U-100 syringe = 0.2 units of a U-40 insulin.

Thank you. for the reply. She was 107 this am she has not had any insulin since Sunday :) Just need to stop the case of the runs now. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Some members use a teaspoon of pumpkin added to the food (plain pumpkin, not the pumpkin pie kind). If it continues, a vet visit might be wise.

Alternatively, 1/4 teaspoon of plain psyllium powder can be added to food to bind up some of the excess moisture.
