I have the Walmart Syringes, but I don't think they are the right ones... again. I copied what Gator told me to get and handed to paper to the clerk. It looks like these are 1u increments. I'm really confused.

AND.... Because I suggested to spousal unit that we get +5 +6 and +7 readings on Bud, I'm told I'm obsessive with "the cat".

Those are 1/2 ml [or cc] not 1/3 cc . Grrrrr I would be piiiised. That is not what I wrote at all if that's what you gave them.

Unless they are the 1/3cc [or ml] ones they will likely not have the 1/2 unit markings.
 
I think you had a great looking day! ... except for the higher PS tonight and the large delta [about 78%]. The higher PS tonight might be a matter of the large delta. Did you do anything like feed HC food or any sugar or anything that could account for the higher PS tonight.

Are you free feeding?

Glad you backed off to .75u.
 
Take the note back and the syringes back and ask them to explain to you what's wrong with that. I think that's irresponsible of them.

They should absolutely understand that 1 cubic centimeter = 1 milliliter - they are pharmacists that's what they do. And 3/10 = 1/3 !
 
They should say "with 1/2 unit markings" right on the box. I had them once try to sell me the one's they gave you ohmygod_smile , I made him pull out almost every box on the shelf and I checked each one til we found the right ones, and I pulled a syringe out of each box and held it up to double check for the markings. hehe I'm sure he hated me. :mrgreen:

I get them on Hocks now, it's WAY easier, and the Hocks ones I don't have an air bubble problem with (did with the Relion's). Shipping is a little slow right now though of course. My Wmart doesn't carry them anymore anyhow, guess I bought up their only box.
 
I don't know if you might even want to back off a hair more on the dose. I'd like t see others' ideas on that.

Did she get a lot of food perchance before the testing? Maybe she ate a lot when the number went low and the result is the higher PMPS. Just some theories.
 
p.s. If you want you can join one of our Overtester's Anonymous meetings :lol: There was talk of a support group for the spousal units, not sure where that ever went.

(Not to say that you ARE an overtester by any means! :-D )
 
The numbers themselves are good but Bud got a 240 point drop in 4 hours which is pretty steep.

Since he's not used to those numbers his liver probably panicked and dumped sugar to protect himself from what his body saw a hypo which it wasn't. Anyway that's why he's higher tonight.

I would back off the dose a bit to give him a gentler curve.

Gator, we free feed. Totally low carb 0-4%. No way she got anything... hmmmm.... it is possible she got some of the dog's food. But I don't think so. She's never been interested in it before. I did get SU to feed her some of her reg food when she was at 69,
 
Rob... thought the PZI didn't kick in @ +4. Thanks for explaining about the dumping sugar and that is why it's higher tonight. Another bit of it I didn't understand. ;-)

Yea if over 300 you can try .5u and just see what happens. If lower than 300 you can back off even more. If under 200 I'd still just kind of walk on by for right now until wal marts can get it straight.

OH MAN! You have no idea how big on the dog food I am. These guys are carb sneaking missiles - stealth ones at that too!
Here's a recent PZI who had isses with the dog food. http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?t=31192 It was very frustrating too, I had asked about the food sitch earlier in here. Then FINALLY she caught the cat in the dog food. Also if Bud goes outside there's all kind of things they can get into that way. Do read the newbie checklist point #10 about the list of things that can cause problems. While you are getting down to the bottom of this, don't take any chances. Watch the dog eat then remove the bowl. Do not leave that dog food or bowl anywhere where the cat could get to it - jump to it, etc. Or feed the dog in another room with the door closed.
 
Feed her now.... 60 and dropping is when to feed low carb.

I'm sure you can engineer some solution to ensure everyone is happy.

The dogs get free fed too? Togs are usually time fed and in that case you can either lock the cat up during that time [with CAT food] or the other way around. Or find some other solution. And don't leave that dog food bowl down - stick it in the oven or fridge something where the cat cannot get to it. Just don't forget the bowl is in the oven and pre-heat the oven [don't ask me how I know about that trick :roll: ].

Delta = % of drop from PS to Nadir.

Prozinc kicks in at about +2.

It's ok to be pissed, this is a safe place to vent away. We get it, we've been there.

So now that the board is back up what is Bud's bg now?
 
sorry... couldn't get back into the site.

BG got down to 45 ... see SS.... feed 12 carb wet. up ao 133... gone to bed
