Buddy's very high #'s

Was warned his #'s likely to be up there for awhile with dose increase,any have an idea
how long till he drops? very hard to watch him eat, pee, sleep. :sad:
at least if no change in 2 more cycles i can do something different(drop to .75u?) and hope for the best.

Marci, I feel your pain. But I have learned here that when the numbers stay up, what is needed is a dose reduction. I am now giving Alley 2 drops of Lev. Seems like he was going good on 3 drops but then his numbers went wacko again. I will hold 2 drops for at least 6 cycles. At least Buddy's numbers are better than Alley's.

If he is rebounding, he may not drop at all. But it looks like at just a hair more (f1.25u) he will drop into the 30-40s.

Or you could go to .5u or .75u and see if things improve. Be sure to test for ketones if he is above renal threshold all day (that's anywhere from about 180-225, depending on the cat).

352 isn't all that bad and pretty typical for a bounce response. I only start worrying when it's 450+. Cats can tolerate much higher BGs than humans. It's still not good for them, but there's no need to panic about 350.

Did I see a 1.15U dose on your spreadsheet for yesterday and now it's changed to 1.2U? You still have a few more cycles on this dose, I doubt you will see any stabilization before 6 cycles if this is a workable dose. It will take at least 24 hours for the 352 bounce to clear. It's that ocean liner affect again.

Again, I have the best luck when raising in very small increments. Hopefully your fat1U was more like 1.1U, otherwise going from 1U to 1.2U is a 20% increase. But it's also important to not change doses too soon either. I have had a tendency to do that myself

no good response after 6 cycles on 1.20 (yes, Vicki,it was 1.15 first but then realized 1.2o was more acurate--it had been 1.05 or 1.10, cant tell for sure..does nothing get passed you? :lol: ) anyway, we went DOWN TO .75...omg,hope i did the right thing, but i guess its the only way to know if i missed his right dose,huh?
