Vet just confirmed blood tests show positive ..his PLI supposed to be 3.5 but his is 35.
Please confirm that vet knows what she is doing-she wants to prescribe 2 meds,
1)Metrommitazol , 2)something new called Cerenial .
I'm not know how much a 16 y.o. cat is supposed to sleep, but i think he's sleeping more and his appetite has decreased
but i thought its because his #'s have been lower. She did not prescibe sq fliuds based on seeing him last week. should i take himin again?
does this sound right? thank you all!

Hi Marci - I have no experience w/ P-titus, but sending Buddy some healing vibes. Hope he's feeling better soon.

thansk--Marcy--was Klinger on sub q fluids also?is he fine now? how long did it take?
was it a blood test or US to determine if he no longer has it?thanks so much. i don't trust my vet ( or any for that matter ) when it comes to FD but at least she does what i say, and that is what i learn about here.

Klinger was on sub-q's, but only a small amount because of his heart murmur. Does Buddy have a heart murmur? If he does, your vet may not want to prescribe fluids. He was probably two weeks before he was totally back to feeling normal. I also gave him pepcid a/c. I thought I read a few weeks ago that you were going to give Buddy b-12 shots. If you haven't done that yet, you may want to try that too.

Is he eating?

Yes.. Buddy has a heart murmer and the vet didnt say anything about that.
I just gave him 100 cc of fluids and maybe i have made him worse!
I read in your post that 50cc bid is better-is that what you did very day?i do give pepsid , thanks Marcy.

To be safe, I would ask your vet about the fluids. Tell him your concerned about his heart.

The exhausting part was the stress of Klinger not eating and having to assist feed him. There are some great Youtube videos on assist feeding. Use a food that you don't normally feed to Buddy. You can try warming his food a little to make it a stinkier, CatSure is a liquid supplement to give him some extra calories, baby food - make sure it doesn't have garlic or onions...
Sending healing vibes to Buddy and strength to you.
