Good Morning L & L ~

Status Quo with Bubs. I took him back to 0.1 dose as the constipation seemed to whack out his green streak.

To much going on here.......another mouse invasion in my new car, chewed through the gas vapor exchange wires ( or something like that) this hit wasn't so bad, only 355.00. But......I am holding my breath that I won't get any more! Spraying peppermint oil on the tires, wheel wells and under the engine once a week......

Mom turned 91 yesterday. I had to tell her about 10 times it was her birthday. When I asked her how old she was, she responded, 61? Hmmmm, I'm 62 so that can't be right. :p

Just got lost a tenant in my condo after 12 years. The condo was in great shape, left immaculate, but the HVAC is dying.......looking at 7 K at least...... Dishwasher and garbage disposal is dead......... My money tree did not produce anything this year........

DH is injured and can hardly walk and his landscaping business is suffering. I have to be his legs for him and I am the chief weeder in the vegetable garden which turned into a jungle of weeds. Some weeds were so tall that the were actually creating a cage around the tomatoes

Does this sound like a bad country western song??? :D

Bubba's momma is tired but other than all this, I pop in when I can but, I miss y'all. :bighug:

Oh Bobbie you have a lot going on! Happy to hear that Bubba is doing well; hopefully he just needs that wee amount of insulin for just a bit longer!

Sending healing vines to your DH!

I thought I was having a bad week moving back into our renovated house :banghead: but I think you are having a worse time!
Sorry DH is injured and the money tree isn't producing this year.
We used to have a money tree down in the back paddock years ago but we moved and when we tried to transplant the tree it died!:joyful:
Wish your Mom a happy 91st birthday. Dementia is a soul destroying disease for everyone. :bighug:

Bobbi, I'm sorry for all the icky stuff that is happening in your life. Sending healing energies to your DH, and comfort in regard to your mom, bless her heart (heck 61 is much better than 91, isn't it?) If I could find money tree seedlings I would share, and then upon harvest you could hire vegetable garden workers, replace all the worn/broken stuff in the condo, somehow prevent mice from car invasions (does the wiring taste good or provide some nutrition?), bolster and support the business, and have a "staycation" since Bubba, Forrest, and the dogs need you there and might not want to go to foreign places. Decorate the house in Bermuda or Fiji fashion and have drinks with little umbrellas in them?

Bobbie , if a candle had 3 ends you’d be burning all of them !!! Happy Birthday to your momma on her 91st :bighug: She is blessed to have such a wonderful daughter as her caretaker . ❤️ Hang tough and take good care of yourself in the middle of all the busy :bighug:

Oh WOW!! Glad I am not you right now!! Seriously, hang in there Bobbie! I can't believe those darned mice won't leave your car alone! Sure hope that peppermint oil does the job! Hope your mom had a good birthday and sorry about the loss of the renters!! I will send you a sapling of my money tree when I get my tree! Looking for one on Amazon or Ebay, LOL! Hope DH is better soon! At least Bubbs looks good!

Nice numbers for Bubba.......as for the mice, well have you tried buying some warferin (sp?) sticks? They are green and break them up and put them in the garage where you see mouse poop, under your car in all the areas, even put some in the engine compartment. Guarantee you won't have mice in a few days......they will eat it, go back to their nest and die peacefully. You can put some water out ni a jar lid as it promotes dehydration and they look to drink, then it reacts and they die from the inside out with no smell even if they go back inside the walls of the house or inner wheel wells or motor of the car

But could the cat die if it ingests one of the mice that ate the stick??

I have to check....you just put small pcs half the size of a dime down, it breaks up with a hammer. It’s a blood thinner and only a small amount is needed to kill mice....I will check with my neighbours as they have dogs and used it.

Amazon has them??? LOL send me the link......

Oh, man that sucks. :bighug: All of it. Bubba the mouser is slacking on his job.

Auntie Bobbie--
I would like to make you some soothing chamomile-catnip tea and some crunchy tea biscuits.
Purrs,
Felix:cat:
I was thinking a margarita and nachos would be better :D.

I hope things take a major turn for the better real soon.

We miss you too. :kiss::bighug:

Sorry about all the chaos! Happy birthday to your mom and I hope DH feels better soon. As for the mice, I have poisoned some before- once- and swore I’d never do it again. At least some of the rats didn’t go off where I couldn’t see them and their death was painful (I had to end it with a shovel). I had the poison where cats couldn’t get to it but still worried. I have read that the poisoned rat won’t hurt whoever eats it and I’ve heard it can, especially birds of prey. HERES one story where it did. Again none of my cats tried to eat a poisoned rat as far as I know, so I don’t speak from experience, and my car wasn’t involved, only my chewed show saddle. And I have to say after that it never got chewed on again! Good luck however you decide to get rid of them!

@Bobbie And Bubba

I found this on the IBDKitties website in regard to giving george’s AVJ.
Give it either in a syringe (dilute with water first) or mixed with food. One teaspoon of the aloe diluted with equal parts water; so 1 tsp. aloe, 1 tsp water and mix it. It’s fine to do that about 2-3 times daily but less if there’s not a lot of stomach upset. Or get your vet’s advice on how much to give. Works best if given about 30 minutes before eating. It must be 100% Pure distilled Aloe Vera, nothing else added

Maybe you have found something different about not needing to dilute it?

OMG, Bobbie! And I thought my life was fraught! Hope you can get plenty of Bobbie-only time inbetween all the inundations. Hope DH on the mend soon.

Those naughty mice. there’s always coyote pee if the peppermint not enough of a thwart. I’d worry about the warfarin thing too. IMHO too much of a risk. Ya never know who might ingest it.

Happy belated birthday to your mom even if she said 61 instead of 91. I liked the inverted numbers idea. And after all, we’re only as young or old as we feel, and sometimes it’s in the moment, right? ;)

One time my mom was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Note that this was during the 2000 presidential election results controversy. She was very disoriented and more so in the ER. Doctors and staff kept asking her the usual questions that she had a hard time answering. Once admitted, those questions continued until on the third day, a younger doctor came in and asked the usual questions that she either fudged through (such as what is your age? She recited her entire birthdate and, with a pixie wink, suggested he do the arithmetic). Then came The who is the president of the United States question. She thought very intently and replied with full candor, “I think it depends on who you think really won Florida.” Doctor smiled, and said “good enough for me! Your mom can go home today.”

Hope your day is lighter in burdens, Bobbie. ❤️

Thanks for siting your source, Marje. I do always give more than the amount of water to AVJ only because Bubba doesn't drink water from a bowl. The only time I ever saw him drink on his own was right before and after feline diabetes DX.
I give 1 tbsp. of AVJ and 1 tbsp. of water in this food twice a day . Then also, twice a day in 2 different feeding I mix 1/4 tsp of SEB to 1/2 tsp AVJ mix it up into a paste and thin it out with 1 tbsp. of warm water. This all goes into his food.

I remember you saying before to add water. I wonder if the IBD site says to do that only to get more fluids in kitties ? George's AVJ has all bitter and irritants removed all ready as other companies can cause diarrhea.

Here is a site for dogs but includes cats which is where I first started toying with the idea of AVJ for my boys. It doesn't say to add equal amount of water .......but, like I said, I do just to get the water into Bubba.

Super! I missed that you add 1 tbsp of water to the paste. I thought you said you just mixed the SEB and AVJ together so that’s why I brought up the water.

To be candid, I’m not sure why one needs to add the water because the George’s is already distilled but I always did it because extra water like that won’t hurt. :):bighug::bighug::bighug:

Wow, Bobbie, your life is nuts right now, how you can manage your life and still be here amazes me! Oh, oh, I already tagged you on a new member that congratulated Dante... though after reading this, it looks like you might just be a tad busy!! :) Yikes, I never heard of mice getting into car hoses, yowsers! Gee, make sure you find time for yourself, even if it is just to relax in the tub. I hope DH feels better, frustrating not to be able to walk, so hang in there!

Sorry for the delay, my neighbour was away and he used it with his dog........it's suggested that since you won't know how much the mouse ate, best not to use it...........better safe then sorry! The dog's not affected as he's much bigger compared to our kitties
