Good Morning L & L

Yesterday's PMBG and this morning's AM earned him a dosecrease. I fattened it to about 0.6. Found a dollop of diarrhea in the box again so I am thinking something is going on with him maybe a IBD flare up. I will start back some SEB and keep in on board for a few days.

Question: Does anyone know if Brewers Dried Yeast contributes to higher numbers? It is one of the ingredients in FlortiFlora and I have been sprinkling it on his food since 8.21 as he stopped eating his food with supplements in it.

Vines to all Kitties and Beans in need. Hope our Texas friends stay safe.

Poor Bubba. I agree, something is bothering him. Can you check to see if there is an issue with his mouth/teeth? I didn't notice any number increase with the FlortiFlora.

Just a suggestion but might try discontinuing anything you are adding to his food. I did with Gizmo and his eating immediately improved (PB, GE, etc.)

Lizzie, is the PB and GE still discontinued? I think that is a good idea. The only thing I will add for a few days will be SEB

I use Forti Flora sometimes if one of my boys doesn't want to eat (they both LOVE that stuff) and I have never noticed a spike in numbers.

Sending feel better vines for Bubba!

Yes. When he all but stopped eating (I ran home from work to try and get him to eat after he didn't eat any of his +2.5 or +4.5) and wouldn't eat even with encouragement, I gave him a dose of Mirtz and then discontinued everything except the B12 that evening cycle. I started giving marshmallow root at PS every cycle and only added the b-right (complex) when I received it. I even discontinued the miralax. I have not started any of it again. He is doing so much better. Even in the LB.

I have no way of knowing but it is almost like there was a formula change in the PB and/or GE. He never had an issue with them in his food before.

Interesting. I am using the same bottle of PB for 36 days so I don't see any correlation for us. I will discontinue for a while and see what happens. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

Fortiflora can cause tummy upset in some cats. If possible I'd back off on that a bit. Sounds like he's just having a rough patch but sure he'll come back down soon. Feel better Bubbs.

The throwing up and diarrhea happened before I started sprinkling the FF on his food. He won't eat without me sprinkling it on his food if there is a supplement in it. Just now, gave him 1 oz of chicken with SEB and he would not go for it. If I give him plain raw with nothing added he will sometimes go for it. :banghead:

I'm not a big fan of Fortiflora, I sprinkle freeze dried Life Essentials turkey or chicken or salmon his favorite
I really like Krill oil lots of great benefits side benefit Fritz loves it drizzled on his food. I order all this online the krill oil is Captains krill straight from the boat.
Bubba your going the wrong way head back to the lagoon

Thanks for this info, I will look into it. As of now, the only way I am getting him to eat is with sprinkled flortiflora

Why not? I just started FortiFlora and sprinkle it on his least fav meal when supplementing with NaturalMoves which he hates. It is the only way to get the NM in him, he goes crazy for the FortiFlora, I started calling it kitty crack :p
I'm right there with you Paul. It's my salvation right now.

I hadn't seen that particular article about FortiFlora before, but they did change the formula at some point last year, and my civvie, Noah, could no longer tolerate even the teeniest bit after that. He went from having no problems with it to not making it to the box in time to poop. I removed FortiFlora and it cleared up. As an experiment, I brought back the FortiFlora and he again started not making it to the box in time. Like you, I only used the teeniest bit to "enhance" his food...

The EZcomplete sprinked on top of food is my 2nd choice to get him enticed, but it ain't the kitty crack
No go with the EZ complete sprinkles. I squirted Omega 3 oil on top and that got him started and he only ate about 1/2. Then I had to break down and give the Flortiflora. I think at this point, I will pick my battles. And eating is a battle I don't want to lose.

PMPS = 122 Don't know how he pulled that off with a + 8 of 140. One of these test is 20% off + /or - But I'll take it!

No more diarrhea since 11 AM. 2 doses of SEB on board and one of Florastor. Fingers and Paws crossed.

Oh shoot, I just ordered a new box, the box I am using is years old and out of date.

Deb can SEB be given at the same time as the oil? I squirted some omega 3 oil I have ( it's pharm grade and RX is necessary) on his food tonight and it got him to eat 1/2 of his food. I did put SEB in it also.

That is a good question? I usually give Fritz SEB in the middle of the night that way I am sure it won't interfere with any of the other things I give him.
I'll look into that.

I give SEB (now MMR) at PS meal, then add the rest to his +2.5, +4.5 and +7.5. Including the fish oil and joint purrfection when I was adding it to his food.

Do not give slippery elm bark at the same time as any other medications or supplements - as University of Maryland Medical Center explains, it can inhibit the absorption of the medications. It is therefore best to give it 1-2 hours before or after any other medications (especially antibiotics), and ideally on an empty stomach, although it is safe to sprinkle it on food if you wish.

Slippery elm bark also contains calcium, so it is probably safer not to use it if your cat has hypercalcaemia.
