My last post was a week ago when Bubba had his 2 year FD anniversary.

Just an update: Bubba has decided, unfortunately that small prey such as mice, voles, and birds wasn't enough for his discerning palate. A few mornings ago, DH found him in one of our trees stalking a squirrel and shot this photo on his phone.

Then two days ago, Lucy, our resident informer, let me know that Bubba was in the yard with some prey in his mouth. At first glance I thought it was the biggest mouse in the world. After I went outside to see what he had I realized it was a baby bunny. We played an exhausting game of chase in the yard but, he was too quick for me and went under one of DH large landscaping trucks where I couldn't get to him. Poor bunny. So Bubba's BG were a bit higher that night. :(

But the good news is that Forrest must have found the bunny nest also and brought one to the French door and released it in my hands and luckily it was still alive. As I was walking to release it somewhere safer, it jumped out of my hands and ran so fast. At least one baby bunny was saved.

I wish I could let the kittens outdoors or at least I had an outdoor enclosed area. Bubba looks so happy!

Gorgeous photo! I would frame it :D

Ginger brought a baby bunny into my house once and let him go. The bunny ran straight into a cat carrier, and as my cats were seeking to get him out, I gathered them up and locked them in the basement. I went back to bunny and he was gone. I have no clue  how I found him so quickly in the about 1 inch space between my refrigerator and the brick wall in the kitchen. He must have gone in face first in a forward motion, but when I got a big cardboard box in front of the teeny opening and a broom handle squeezed in front of him in the small space, he jumped right into the box. I took him outside, opened the box, and he took off. I hope he was old enough to be away from his mama.

Poor bunnies. Mine have disappeared also. The nextdoor drooler is to blame. Hanna is a young German Shepherd (beautiful dog) but not real happy with her right now. :(

Good thing they multiply like rabbits :p.

Love Bubba surveying the killing field in the tree!

back when we had an outdoor cat that adopted us.... he brought me everything.... the best one was the gophers....
but there was a baby bunny who didn't make it. ( newborn)

think they breed like rabbits because apparently the nest is just on the ground, open to all predators....
guess all the other critters gotta eat....

love that picture....
no walking off the plank, Bubba....

Nice perch there Bubba, but watch out the first step is a doozy!! Now mice, voles are okay to capture but bunnies are to cute. You need to leave them alone. Don't mess with squirrels, you will get hurt with their claws.

Amazing report! TY for posting Bobbie!

Poor bunny :( but what I read here is that Bubba feels strong, confident and being a master of his territory:cool:. What better could be wished for for a predator? And he IS handsome!:bighug:
