Good Morning L & L ~

It's Bubba's Birthday today he is 12! And the poor boy still does not feel good. He did not awaken me for his +6 meal. I woke up at 3:40A and he did eat a tiny bit. His BG at that point was all ready 255 so this morning AMPS was not that effected.

Waiting for the vet office to open at 8 so I can call. He continues to not eat with the gusto that he usually has and I have relied on Flortiflora to sprinkle on top one several of his meals each day. He looks punky.

Vines to all Beans and Kitties in need.

Happy Birthday Bubba!
I'm sorry he still isn't feeling well. I hope you can get him in to see the vet today. Sending vines!

Back from the vet. Looks like another absorption lesion on the lower right! UGH. And the surgery schedule is full till June 4th. Not good. The front desk will ask permission of one of the vets to allow for Bubba this week. Fingers and Paws crossed that they will get my boy in.

We were sent home with 6 syringes of Bup and 1 mirtazaphine to split into 8's . Geez, not easy splitting an oval pill into 8 equal parts. I gave his first Bup and will see if that helps him to want to eat once the pain has subsided. The mirtz will be my Ace in the Hole.

What is this? I guess I missed it before.

What dosage is the Mirtz? Gizmo gets 1/8 - 1/4 of 7.5mg. If you can get it cut in quarters take a straight razor and cut the 1/4 in two. I use a pill cutter to cut in half and then in quarters and then the straight razor to cut the 1/4 in half again.

So sorry, Bobbie! That stinks! Has he had extractions before? How many back teeth does he have left? Is he prone to tooth resorption?

I wish I knew then what I know now. Asia had 2 good teeth when I had most of them extracted and they asked if I wanted to take them out (didn’t see a reason to take out good teeth and also couldn’t afford it at the time). I wish I had just done it.

I really, really hope they can find a way to fit him in this week. If not, any vet dental specialists in your area? I used one with Asia, not inexpensive, but very worth the peace of mind to have a dedicated anesthetist so the doctor could just focus on the teeth.

Glad you could get Bubba in right away and got answers. Sending vines for early dental surgery:nailbiting: this week for Bubba and for speedy recovery and feeling better soon. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Happy Birthday Bubba! Poor little buddy, Rufus has resporbtion too. I worry about him losing teeth again. I think that's what kind of landed us here in the first place.

Too bad about that tooth but now you know what's going on. Much better than wondering about really scary things ...

Happy birthday, dear Bubba! So sorry your special day is not a happier one this year. ❤️

Good to know what the problem is, hope the meds help and the vet can squeeze him in ASAP. I can so relate to FORLS issues! Squallie's teeth have lesions, too. Miserable disease for our poor sweet kitties to have to deal with. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

The dental specialist is 1 hour away. If they can't accommodate him, I will see if my former vet can. Momma is not letting her boy suffer.

ETA : He has had 3 teeth removed from these lesions. A canine and two premolars.

The dosage was 15 mg. He said I could even cut it into 1/16. Which if you are giving up to 1/4 of a 7.5m to Gizmo, maybe a 1/16 would do it?

I cut it across in 1/2 with the pill cutter and then again lengthwise in the pill cutter. Never thought to take a straight razor to it. It wasn't exact but good enough.
