Good Afternoon L & L ~

I was prepared to post today that Bubba was on his first day of OTJ Trail. He had other ideas.......He didn't want to eat this morning. Did not come out of the basement at breakfast. Momma served him in his man cave. Nope.....Tried another flavor without the supplements added as he's always iffy with them, NOPE. finally gave him 1/2 can of FF. Score. I gave him one drop of insulin like he'd been getting.

He did not ask to go outside. Red Flag. At +3 I offer him his second breakfast and he's still not real interested . Took his BG and he was 143! Vet time.

Nothing remarkable. Teeth were just cleaned in May with two extractions and his mouth looked fine. She felt some poop up higher than she could reach. X-ray confirmed that. Which surprised me because he gave a good size deposit early this morning which proved to be too hard for an analysis. She gave him subQ fluids, and did BW at my request. Waiting for that to come back.

We get home and I open the carrier and he jumps out and "cluck" a hard poop dropped to the floor and one hanging in his fur. So, I am hoping that it was just constipation and that by PMPS he will have come down. If not, I will give him more than a drop , maybe .25 of unit and see what that does.

The moral of the story is : DON'T COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH and
the other moral of the story is : NEVER TRUST A CAT.

Vines to all Beans and Kitties in need.

Your “moral of this story “made me laugh out loud , Bobbie :joyful: :joyful: :joyful: .....never trust a cat, indeed

I hope it's just constipation and he'll be back to being the old Bubba shortly!
Do you give him anything for constipation Bobbie?

Yep...no chicken counting and no trust...:p
Just when you think 'I've got this' - they show you who da boss is...

Hang in there..hope he'll feel better once he has a nice big ole movement! :D:D:D

Sorry to hear about Bubba and hope he cleans himself out............you can try a powder called Restoralax (in Canada) and I'm sure it's like Miralax.......I give it to Harley about 1/8 tsp morning and evening as he's got some constipation issues and he's been on it a year and he does great. When Davidson sneaks and gets his food, it DOES NOT affect his BG's.........but does give him some pretty loose, smelly poop - yuck! So it's safe to use on Bubba if you need to soften his poop to allow to pass easier.

Good luck and hope he drops back down for you
