A new user was wondering about this, and since I'm a data geek, I thought I'd put it out there for those who want to share.
Please provide the following (if you're so inclined)

Age at diagnosis:
Current age, or age at death:
Deceased?
Ever Controlled? (ie, did you ever get a stable insulin dose with reasonable glucose numbers)
last used insulin:

I can subtract the 2 ages and get a duration, which I can subgroup by whether or not gone ahead, by agegroup, and by insulin group.

This is interesting but since I have several diabetic cats I find the question about ever controlled a little hard to answer.

Two of my FDs were in remission at certain points in time. Tucker came out of remission and subsequently fought a brain tumor and Hypokalemia. Another came out of remission when he got a form of cancer, which is opposite of some thinking that cancer eats sugar and cats go into remission when they get cancer.

Also some of my diabetics (all adopted BTW) were stress, diet or steroid induced so their information might change the data a lot. Ebony is four and was stress induced, Bean was 3-4 yrs of age when she was steroid induced. Both are OTJ now. Sweet Potato and Mr. Darcy were on insulin when adopted but never needed a drop at my house, so were they diabetic?

Sorry, I know I'm going on and on, but just wondering if you would want to account for all the different variables.

I am with Jenn, the cancer was a variable in his diabetes and also was the cause of his death, not the diabetes.

yes, was on BCP PZI at this time.was OTJ 3/13/06. on 9/15/06 back on insulin. had bad tooth infection. sputtered for a while after that tempting to go OTJ but never did. . levemir started
7/20/07 cause PZI no longer working

last used insulin: levemir

Beasley and twinkie 9 years my fosters
twink DX 9/16/04 and on NPH
beasley DX 10/20/05 and on NPH

I got them just before thanksgiving 2001 and they were started on Lantus when pulled from shelter a week prior

both have been stable on .5u lantus
Twinkie is on a trial now for OTJ day 1

results will be interesting however are you trying to find out how long the cats lived or how long were they on insulin or how long they were controlled. Age at DX and current age/age at death really wont tell you how long they were actually on insulin/being treated for diabetes.
