Boy Cat diagnosed today

Hello,

Hoping to find some beginner tips and helpful information. Boy Cat is a 13 year old Himalayan and a recent change in his demeanor prompted a vet check. He was diagnosed today and spending another night at the vet to get stabilized. Hopefully I can figure all this out.

Will you be home testing? It really is our best tool in the FD kitty tool belt. A lot of us use a human glucometer and feed Friskies pate (non-indoor formula) and Fancy Feast classics (pate) versus Prescription diets. This is the Spreadsheet template we use to track BG numbers:
