So, we've cut down to .1U after dropping down to 32 on .25U. However, since then, we have been riding high and haven't seen any good numbers since. I am assuming that he is still bouncing. When will I know if he needs to go back up to .25U? Could he have been feeling after-effects from a larger dose previously when he was going so low on the .25?

To predict when a bounce "ought" to clear, I count forward 3 days from the "low numbers event" that likely caused the bounce. In Boops' case, that was mid-cycle on the 7th. So I would expect him to come down sometime between now and the 10th, Friday's day cycle. For now, he's still bouncing. He could clear it before tomorrow, but he may stay high until then. He not only got to a very low number (32) but he also dropped extremely fast - in 3 hours he dropped essentially 300 points. Either of those things alone could've caused a bounce, so i wouldn't be at all surprised if he doesn't stay high til tomorrow.

Tomorrow, however, if he isn't back in green by pmps then we should consider whether or not he has a "failed reduction" and should go back up to 0.25u. If you think you should do that at pmps, post about it and ask someone to help you decide.

Hard to be sure, but he certainly might have gone into something lower last night. But lower doesn't necessarily mean dangerously low - we don't know. He dropped 55 points in the last 2 hours that you tested - that's not huge but if he dropped at that rate for another couple of hours it may have been enough to trigger another bounce. Obviously, he did bounce from whatever happened.

With his last bounce, he starting clearing it in the 4th cycle after the 30's. You can expect that he'd do something like that, or perhaps earlier, this time. The longer they stay in normal numbers the better, and the more they get used to it the shorter the duration of the bounce will be, and usually the bounce won't be as high. Like maybe at the end of bouncing he'll only bounce to 150 for a couple of hours.

Each time he gets into green numbers give him a little bit of his regular low carb to try to help him stay flat. That can help extend the length of time a cat will stay in greens.

Go ahead and start a new thread each day.
