Last night I didn't shoot and managed to get two readings before I got really sleepy. This morning her # is almost 400. Is this the bouncing effect and is there any hope her little body is trying to sort itself out?
I followed the protocol I read here if the PS # is below the usual value -no shot - but now I'm thinking maybe I should have shot 1 unit or so? This is all so very confusing - thank goodness you all know so much!

In this situation, we'd probably need a crystal ball (only because asking Martini won't work) to know why numbers are high this morning. There's the obvious reason -- you didn't give a shot last night. While there can be some coverage from the depot, it's unlikely that the depot can do all of the work itself to keep numbers in a more reasonable range without benefit of your usual shot.

It would not be unreasonable to assume there's a bounce involved. However, without benefit of a shot, there's no way to know for sure what the best explanation for the high AMPS is.

What you did learn is that Martini had some good duration/overlap. I'd encourage you to start considering where you feel comfortable shooting. Ultimately, you want to be able to shoot progressively lower numbers so you see a flatter curve. It is confusing in the beginning. A lot of the confusion gets better the more data you have and the more comfortable you are with shooting lower numbers.

Thank you lovely people!
I wanted to shoot a token dose .75 to 1 unit when she was low, but the protocol for the slow method here specifically said don't shoot under 8.3. Very confusing.
I am determined this weekend to get Martini to sit well for me alone for testing. Also wanted to do a curve but with only 3 days left until the weekend, I started back to square one for the cycles and I'm not sure this is enough.

Again thank you.
