Hi,

I'm pretty new and have been out reading all the wonderful info posted here. BooBoos numbers at PSAM were 256. At +6 we are at 83 with my Accue Chek and 105 with my Alpha Trak. His numbers have never ever been this low. I will post all his numbers on the spreadsheet once I finished.

Any advice since we are just at +7 and +10 is when he normally is at his lowest.

Yesterday's numbers were

PSAM 267
+2. 318
+4 225
+6 134
+8 116
+10 108
PSpm 286

Getting ready to test again.

He is on Lantus 1 1/2 units Bid.

Thanks
Nadine

How long has Boo been on insulin?
If the next BG is rising then you may have found the right dose. A little reduction also may be in order. It depends upon the reading today and if this is repeatable.

He's been on insulin since 6/22/14. His highest reading being at 766 when he was in the emergency room 2 weeks ago. He had a uti. Ketones were negative. He started at 1 unit and my vet dropped to 1/2 unit when he had a mild hypo episode. We then increased to 1 unit for 2 weeks and then increased by 1/2 unit. His numbers(trying to finish the spreadsheet now) have always bee between 300L and over 500h. That's why I bought the alpha Trak 2 because it registers numbers over 600. Yesterday's number were a miracle and I was pretty scared. Was up all night but they rose steadily to 399 at + 6 then dropped before preshot this am. His numbers are all over the board. My vet keeps changing his story on when I should become concerned. Yesterday it was if they dropped below 90 and today he says if the alpha Trak drops below 80. That's why I'm here. There is at least a 30 point difference between the Accue Chek and the alpha Trak at times. Numbers in the 100s were my goal but now at 83 and 105. I have to confess I gave him 3 Temptations snacks because I was getting worried. He currently eats DM and tiki cat. He slowly becoming acclimated to soft food. He also has a rodent ulcer on his bottom lip right now. He's has not had one in about 2 years and the only way to treat is with steroids. Thanks for your time today and I will get BooBoos numbers posted shortly.
