Boo's had a great cycle so far today. I'm playing around with trying to balance how to keep (if that's even possible), these big sways from happening. He's been sitting in the lovely zone for longer and longer during the cycle (with the help of some LC)...but there's always a point that his body says, "Thanks, I've had enough....I'm heading back to the clouds".

So our ongoing investigation continues.....

Back to work again today....I usually work in CCU, but our hospital is in the process of becoming a Level 2 Trauma center, so the CCU and ER are cross training. Odd shifts for me (1PM-1AM)...I'm getting home just about at our AMPS...so I'm completely on the other end of our normal schedule. The ER has been fascinating and it's a great experience to see the front end of what we usually get.

Great day to all!

Morning!! good luck with the balancing. I just think that after a while they just stop doing that- the sways, the bounces, and things level out. Mannie did for the longest time, but now we are back to the bounces, the highs and the lows... Things just keep changing and never a dull moment.

Very nice numbers for Boo Radley - love that +6. GREEN!!

Work sounds fascinating - my mom worked CCU until she retired - intensive work, but she loved it.

Boo, you don't like those lovely blues and greens?!? They make mama bean really happy.

Be careful Jessica, those shift swaps can mess you up!

And there he goes back into green!!!! Let's hope he will continue to be in green more and bring his AMPS down!!

Just a couple things altho you might be gone (the info on your work and the trauma center conversion is really interesting but I don't know how you do those shifts!!).

1. Thank you for checking in on Tobey. His socket did get infected; he's on clindamycin and it looks much better; today they will give a local and try to debride the proliferative gum so his upper tooth is not pressing on it constantly.

2. Thanks for the clarification on Tess's condo regarding protein. Even though cats are obligate carnivores and need more protein, it still doesn't make sense to me why humans with renal disease would need less. The premise is the same and humans also need proteins. So if you are losing protein through your kidneys and you cut protein intake....there are a lot of cellular processes that are going to be short the protein they need for repair, etc. I wouldn't think that increased protein is a burden on the kidneys. Just IMHO but I'm not a medical doctor (altho I've taught college level A&P        ).

Have a great day. Love that you have so much great info to share!!!

Hi Jessica & Boo Radley,

That was quite a drop, but since it happened over 6 hours, it's a nice drop! I, too, am in awe of your medical knowledge. Thanks for sharing it with us medical klutzes!

And I love the dental pic in Rusty's condo today!!

Hope your shift at the hospital went well today. Those are some hours!
