Option 3, do a BCS. But the depot may still have this cycle play out as it would with a full dose.

@Wendy&Neko do you think given his past examples of not responding very fast to anything, such as food, etc. that a full dose is safe?
You really think full dose and then regular LC dinner?

If I skip, am I just playing Groundhog Day and we will be back in this same position in a day or two? Do I just need to get this shooting a green over with?

Shoot low to stay low but you have to decide based on Wendy's outlined options and supplies and ability to stay up to monitor and test.

If you are nervous the BCS is a middle of the road option, but you probably want to decide before you end up in skipping territory anyway!

We are about 36 min past dose time. His 30min stall was @ 63
Hopefully you still have all your fingers and toes!

A BCS shot is 50% of the normal dose, you can give more or less depending on your comfort level. Some of it comes with learning how Taffy responds.

If you have trouble getting his numbers up, you could play it safer and give a BCS. If you are able to monitor and make it a late night, the full shot is an option as well. I think Taffy will be looking for a reduction soon too based on the last few days.

We have stalled for quite a bit already, I'm sure Taffy is letting Julie know about it.

Good job Julie. I am up for probably 3 hours yet. I'll keep an eye on you. You can always feed some medium carb or higher % low carb if you are nervous. Get a +1 and a +2. A +0.5 if you are really nervous.
Do I just need to get this shooting a green over with?
As some point, we all do. :bighug: Taffy's just making you do it sooner than some others have.

crap now i'm scared...I gave the full dose.

These are given as the "balls of steel" award for shooting green for the first time. Hope you like the nail color.

Make sure to get plenty of tests in tonight. A few tests early on can help you see a drop starting. If he is dropping faster then you want, you can start steering with medium or high carb food to help keep him from dropping too low or too fast.

Start testing right away at +1?
1 hour from actual shot time. Those early tests can help you determine what kind of night it is going to be. Of course, Taffy likes to wait until late in the cycle to make his quick drop so save a little energy for later in the cycle when he is most likely to go low.

Yup, this seems to be his dealio. BUT, let's not forget to include the "he's a cat" factor. As soon as we decide we have figured him out (or bought a case of a food they liked) he will change his course, of course!

Well, those nails are much more gorgeous than mine!
What I need is some xtra strength deodorant! Btwn my nerves and my power walking the parking lot at WalMart, I'm stinking! TMI?

Anybody have some good tips on going back and forth on the thread, reading and such? I feel very schizo! Do you "like" a post to mark it as "read"?

You can like a post to let the writer know you liked it or a quick way to acknowledge you read it but didn't respond. It won't help too much with replies.
The 2 ways to try to keep track are 1) at the top of the page on the right is "alerts" this shows responses you haven't read yet. Inside the thread, new posts have a little blue new flag on the right hand side.

I usually just blame it on the cat, makes things easier.

If you refresh your own thread, if there are new comments on it, you will see "Go to first unread" on the top left side .....click there and it'll take you to the first comment you haven't already read

I saw that, but how does "it" know what I've read. I click on that and it takes me to posts I already saw. I guess it only knows if I reply?

Ok well I already do these things, so I guess there is no secret I was not aware of...I need a new mouse. Mine died the other day and I hate using the track pad on this board.

Nah, my kitties smell like happy! I wouldn't do that to them! I'm part hippy, so I'm used to my own stinkiness. (I use lemons but I skipped a few days...)

??? Is FF classic chicken considered LC or MC? I've seen it mentioned as both. I was going to make more of his raw chicken mix cuz I'm almost out, but I don't want to get too much going on.

Thanks, both of you! I've been mixing FF in with his chicken, both to stretch and for flavor to make sure he eats (he doesn't always love my lovingly and carefully prepared raw organic meat dishes...brat), and now I can use it as a backup LC. I don't know what it was about the RadCat that is different than when I make the food, but he loved that stuff until it was HPP'd.

+4 @ 152

Well, I can rest, I guess, but what is he doing? Going up at this point means a bounce, right?

Well done on shooting your first green!!:D

Looks like he is starting another bounce, I think you should be alright to go to bed. Nite nite.

Well he just woke me up for snack.
So I checked him at 302 @ +7.5
Back to bed for me, we have a bouncer. I gave him a small LC snack bcuz he won't leave me alone unless I do. Now he is running around, mowing, acting nutty!
