Carl & Polly & Bob (GA)

So, today makes two years since Bob got his last shot of insulin :-)

The boy just never ceases to amaze me. I took the meter case out of the drawer and amazingly the battery still worked. It still had saved data from his last 50 tests in it. I was surprised to read that the last test was at 5pm, exactly one year ago. Time flies. I had no idea it was THAT long ago.

Anyway, Bob was out sleeping on the front porch. Less than five seconds after I turned the meter on, and it went "beep", here comes Bob running into the room, crying and rubbing my ankles! Freaking amazing!

I sit on the floor, he lays right down, and I am proud to say I got blood with a 33g lancet, freehand, on the first try :-D
Needless to say, he got a healthy serving of shrimp immediately afterwards...

Here's his line:

PMBG (+17541 hrs. Yes, I did the math!) ~ 73

Last July 19th, the test result was a 67. So it's gone up 6 points in a year nailbite_smile
I'm going to write that off to "meter variance"

Congratulations on reaching the 2 Year OTJ mark with Bob! That's fantastic. I'm hoping that Wink will follow Bob's example.

That was hilarious that Bob came running to be tested after 1 year. Of course, he knew he would be getting his favorite shrimp out of the deal.

Carl, you must have felt so proud. Keep it up and we will be waiting for the 3 year mark in another year.

How about a cake to celebrate? Low carb of course

I saw the number of hours and instantly thought of calculating Wink's hours. Then thought better of it.

You better break out your hypo kit! Sounds like Bob may need a hit of high carb!

I'm just happy he wasn't below 40..... I would have had a hard time giving him a reduction.

Thank you all for the visits, the cake, the bubbly, the kind words and the dancers!

change the color to gray, and make the belly just a little bit rounder, and that could be Bob. Of course, I think I'd need to speak with him about his choice of clothing...

Carl. That is just exciting news. Two years at the falls...life is good.

Give Bob extra lovins from us. :-D

Wow! Wonderful, heart-warming news!

Congratulations, Bob, on 2 years off the juice. Amazing stuff. Your bean is a top care-giver; and he's a tremendous support too to all the many cats and beans on this forum. :-D
