Has anyone used Blood Sugar Gold as a replacement for insulin treatments ? My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and tomorrow I'm heading to the vet with the insulin and syringes....However, I found the above med.l online today and was wondering if anyone had used it......It is supposed to curb and put the diabetes into remission. Would like to get some feedback if possible....Thanks and I hoe to hear your comments. I am completely terrified with the prospect of having to deal with syringes every single day. I will if I have to but this website certainly perked my interest......:-)

Pills don't work. Herbs don't work. They make the remaining pancreas beta cells work harder, and end up destroying the pancreas beta cells and leaving your cat on insulin for the rest of their life. They are a waste of money, better spent on insulin, testing supplies, low carb canned food.

You can try a diet change first, to lower carb food <10% by calories like Fancy Feast classic pate style or Friskies pates or Wellness. Give that about a week. Sometimes, that can drop a cats BG (blood glucose) 100 points or more.

The insulin shots will support your cats pancreas and help it to heal. Cats are unique, in that they can regenerate, grow new beta cells and start producing their own insulin again. To do this, the pancreas needs to rest. The best opportunity to get the pancreas to heal, is in the first 6 months after diagnosis.

Shots are actually easier to give than pilling a cat. We can teach you what you need to know about the day to day management of feline diabetes.

What insulin is your vet prescribing? Lantus, levimir and prozinc are the 3 best for cats. The others are good for dogs, but don't last long enough with a cats faster metabolism.
