Hello-

My kitty Stella was at a low dose (in her world), when the vet decided she should go onto Blood Pressure meds. The meds have made no difference in her BP at this point, but it has made a difference in how much insulin she needs. We were down to about 1.25 1.5 etc and then we started the meds. We just hit 3.0 which was the hightest dose we ever had, and nothing seems to alter her BGs. I don't know if its the meds, or simply this Lantus Solostar pen is bad.

Any experience out there with Blood Pressure meds? Thanks in advance!

Reducing blood pressue may relax or increase the diameter of blood vessels and thus decrease the rate of blood flow
This could slow the distribution of the insulin.

In general, you treat the condition and adjust the insulin as needed around that.

Thank You BJM! This makes sense. Also, at +5 she hit 110 letting me know that the Insulin is apparently fine. Maybe it is just an adjustment to the new meds. :-D
