Trying not to freak out, but my civie, Phoebe, who is 14 just vomitted what looks like blood. It was red and watery with some flecks of what looked like blood. Don't know what else it could be. She has not gotten into anything red. She did it earlier this week and had a piece of bath carpet in with the vomit so I figured that upset her stomach and she was better. But this time the vomit was all red and watery and I removed that bath mat so she wouldn't be inclined to chew on it. She is my biggest puker anyway, almost every morning, but this is really concerning me. have a vet appt at 3 cst. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi guys, I don't have any thoughts on what it could be, but I'm keeping you in my thoughts .. hoping for the best .. please update when you can!

Back from the vet. She has lost a pound this last year. Vet gave her a shot of famotidine and said to put her on zantac 75mg sid to help with acid control. Had blood work done on her kidneys to see how they were: BUN 30 range 16-36, CREA 2.9 range 0.8-2.4. He thought her numbers were pretty good considering she is hypOthyroid and 14. He also took a urine sample that he said looked dark so he was going to run an in house test and send out for a culture. Thinks this may be causing her vomitting and her weight loss. Vet was not as concerned about the flecks of blood as I was since her appetite and bm's are still good.
Thanks for the good thoughts!

I'm glad the dr is happy with her blood work .. hopefully she'll gain that extra pound back on and no more throwing up blood!
