Hello!I have a newly diagnosed kitty with Diabetes...I read something about to wear glove protection bc cats blood can contain something harmful to humans. Well I was doingher glucose check and she shook her head and blood def got above my eye and onto my forehead. Should I be concerned if it got into my eye?
Thank You

I got cat blood on me plenty of time from Neko shaking her head after I poked. Contact with it is not a problem I've heard of.

I get blood on my hands all the time. I wear glasses so I would not expect to get blood from shaking in my eye. However, I would not expect a blood drop in your eye to cause a problem unless the cat has a contagious blood disease
eaise.

Many of us cared for our diabetic cat for years without a problem. I've been on this board for a very long time and have never heard of there being a problem with exposure to a cat's blood. The only issue may be if your pregnant and cleaning litter -- there is a risk of toxoplasmosis.
