Injection was about 20 minutes ago - She seems okay - could I have hit something I shouldn't have? What would be the ramifications if it I did. No blood now and as I mentioned it was a speck at the site that I haven't seen before.
Okay- Thank you- I was having a bad day- even stuck myself with the lancet which I haven’t done in a long while. She seems forgiving as she isn’t hiding anywhere and ate what I just put in front of her. I’m getting to be such a worrier- nothing like I used to be.
That is most likely what happened this morning. It just breaks my heart every time I do something to her that makes an already terrible situation worse.
I felt horrible.
I give Teasel freeze dried meat/fish treats that I buy in a pet store. One brand is Pure Bites (very common) but I also buy Orijen brand treats (usually found in smaller holistic style pet stores). Some people use dried tuna bonita flakes from Asian grocery stores. Would those be easier for you to access? Could your daughter ship you a supply of freeze dried treats?
Thanks - I'll check into those treats and see if I can get them via my daughter who is already being inundated with my supply requests. But she is very much into helping. She is a foster cat parent for a local shelter and enjoys it. Not sure about the dried tuna bonito flakes - I've given them to other cats, but to be honest I really never checked to see what exactly is in there and how they are preserved when packaged.
I wonder if the dried whole fish they sell here are good? I don’t know if they add anything to them but I see them all the time in almost every cat section and Smokey has had them a few years ago and loved them. Personally I don’t use an actual treat since he’s so food motivated I can just use a spoonful of regular food as a treat. If you find out anything about those fish though I would love to know!
If there's nothing but fish that's been dried they should be OK. My treats are plain dried meat/fish with nothing else in them.
Yeah - those are pretty much the same thing we have here. Spouse says they are nothing but fish but be sure to use them quickly and store in the fridge. As I mentioned I have given them to the other cats and you are absolutely right - shame on you if you don't get your hand out of the way. I'll start with that for Goma beginning this evening. We always have some around for soup broth for ourselves.

Apparently as has been mentioned - They are nothing but dried fish so should be just fine. I used to give these to other cats to get them to eat, Goma never had an eating problem so, bless her heart, probably got left out. Shame on me...
