For a cat which has had bladder stones - what minerals and other factors should be controlled? Phosphorus? Magnesium? Other? Unfortunately, I don't know what kind of stones the cat had; he belongs to the housemate.

And in a house with non-diabetic cats (well ... at the moment), what is the highest level of carbs that should be fed - 10% max, other? Except for the rescued strays, most are at or over a desired weight (colony feeding, as I can't separate 15 cats!). Obviously, I want to keep them from developing diabetes if possible.

That link is helpful; thanks. Now I just have to find out what kind of stones he had.

Yes, Dian is right, the oxylate stones have to be surgically removed. The Struvite stones usually can be dissolved. I have had a dog with them in the past, and also several cats with the struvite stones. Kept them on low Magnesium foods.
