Look at our numbers and please give me input on whether I should give him insulin this morning. His lowest number since he was diagnosed in May 2010 was 160, so this is a big moment for him!! I will not be home today after +5 until around till after +7, so I won't be able to monitor. I did notice he stayed asleep most of the night from around ten and then I woke him up for the +6 during the night. I fed him then and am feeding now. Help with input please!

I am definitely not the one to answer this--but the rule of thumb is for newbies not to shoot under 200. Hopefully, someone else will reply.

I would test again in an hour and see if he is going up.

You might want to flag this with a 911 and post on health- more early traffic there.

I took his level 13 hours post last insulin and he is up to 251...So I have given him the 2.5 dose and will watch closely. If i have to, I'll just cancel my appointment today to follow him. I just didn't want to get him headed up again when we finally had a response to some insulin!

Sounds good. Hopefully Sue and Crew will be around shortly to help you!

Hurrah! I am so glad. I was getting discouraged that going down was the wrong direction!
You did this exactly right, Debra. Wait and retest. Now we just collect data and see how the food and insulin are going to work together.

By the way, candles usually mean a kitty has died. You might want to take off that icon. You don't want to give others a jolt this am.

OOPs so sorry, thought that meant you needed a bright light of information.....Yuk an awful thought. He's bathing and just hanging out right now..With him, this is actually great news. He usually just sleeps, eats, and drinks!

Yahoo! Looks like BJ had a nice long surf in the blues last night (blue at +6 and +12). That's so great! Bet you're a happy mama today. Now you know he can reach those numbers. Keep us posted on how the day goes.

Great #s woohoo!!! Glad I missed the candle  we don likez doz! Just an fyi too on 911s since that was mentioned - that will freak people out too - supposed to only be used for situations that might be life-threatening.

Sometimes the results are blah on late shots, so hopefully you'll be back to pretty blues again soon. Glad you took others' advice not to jump back to 4.5! Good call!!!!
