Today, the temp agency sent me out to the Idaho Governor's residence to take down Christmas decorations...
and guess who has a diabetic dog???

(okay...you get three guesses, and the first two don't count...and a hint- he runs the Gem State) :lol: :lol:

How's that for a crazy coincidence?

Now I'm wracking my brain to see how that can be used to the advantage of the FDMB :-D

An idle conversation and pointing them to the canine diabetes website leading into a conversation about pet diabetes (roughly 60% of his constituents may have pets), both feline and canine.

You could tie into local public health efforts for human diabetes - help yourself, help your pet: preventing and treating diabetes in your home,

You obviously have to recruit him into the LL forum! :lol: :lol: But seriously, get him in touch with the canine group and maybe an awareness campaign from him for pet diabetes. :mrgreen: ~ John

Binks is frantically trying to convince me that he simply MUST go with me tomorrow-

Wow, Celi, that is some interesting news! Waiting to see how you work it. Maybe it will lead to a job, such as coordinator for pet diabetes.

I used to do temp work and I never got to do anything as cool as taking down Christmas decorations. But wait a minute... I did do a temp job at Turner Broadcasting and got to hand Ted Turner some mail in his office. And wait... I also had a temp job at the start-up office for the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and got to talk to Jimmy Carter on the phone a few times. Maybe my temp work was a little more interesting than I thought. Celi, thanks for bringing back some memories!

Good luck on your campaign for Feline and Canine Diabetes!! You would be such a great spokesperson for the cause in your state! And I think you definitely should bring the Binkster with you tomorrow. Who knows...maybe Binks and the Governor's dog will get along famously.

WOW Celi! I've been wondering about where/if I'll find a job and I forgot all about registering w/temp agencies. I want a cool assignment like you got! This is Louisiana after all, I am only an hour from New Orleans, and Mardi Gras is just around the corner!

Subbing at petsmart for their puppy class (I taught dog obedience classes for years)...

or go work at the county landfill...

I'm really having trouble getting to all the condos...

Puppy training class sounds fun. That would be like kids for me, I'm glad they go home with someone else. :lol: :lol: I totally understand about the time crunch and appreciate all the condo visiting that you do. I always get a good laugh.

Celi, you have got to be the most versatile, talented person I have ever met (or semi-met since I haven't really met you in person!). Dog obedience trainer...wow! Does Binkster allow you to hang out with the droolers?
